I think that...( sorry for the peeps who are bored with the M&C topic, but just bear with me a little longer :D )... Maerad won't form a relationship, ever, that is as deep and understanding as the one she has with Cadvan, because they've just been through so much. Yes, she might love others, but Cadvan will always remain in her heart, whether he died or not(hopefully, NOT), or whether anything romantic happens between them. :)

I mean, when Maerad fell in love with the Winterking, and had to leave him, she was heart-broken, wasn't she? But when she found Cadvan again, she was almost her happy self, apart from when the name Arkan was mentioned.
Oh, and when she got upset, Cadvan was always there to comfort her...

OH WILL U CALM DOWN! I said clearly as gemini has clearly stated that this thread was for M&C relationship talk there is no need for a new thread as this one is clearly for it man it was so much easier when there was less people! MRS CADVAN U ARE GETTING ON MY NERVES you go along nitpicking anything you find. I have said it in my thread not so long ago THIS THREAD IS FOR M&C now can we all give this topic a rest and get onto relationships such as M&C!!!!! SHEESH!
...can we keep things civilised on this thread now PLEASE!

Calm down? You're the one typing in capitals. And you're a hypocrite, too, telling people to be civilised - accusing me of nitpicking everything I find, which I most certainly do not. What a load of crap.
Guys, I sincerely apologise to all of you for dragging this up again, and I hope you will forgive me. It's just, in all my posts on these forums I've gone by a few simple rules. I don't post irrelevant stuff on the wrong threads, and I don't try and take over the moderators' job like some people have.
And no, Silvia, you did NOT make it clear that this thread was for M&C chat. That's where this stupid debate came from.

Personally I want to know more about Silvia's relationship with her daughter, exactly what happened to Clavila and how the parents reacted. I don't know why it seems interesting to me but it seems like there is more than meets the eye. (I might be reading too deeply. Or maybe it is because I like learning about individual family relationships.)

While I love the romantic tension that builds in these books, ultimately I don't think I want Maerad to be settled down and setting up housekeeping by the endof this series. Even if it takes another 10 years to do what has to be done to get rid of the nameless-she still would be way to young to be like picking out furniture at the bard equivilent of the Crate & Barrel. Maybe she hasn't met the person that will get her to really open up yet. While I love Cadvan - I don't think he would ever try to change the situation between them as he knows that it freaks her out. She needs to have some crushes and stuff before she would ever thhink of him in any other way than a mentor. Not that it s impossible.

sorry i know you guys are sick of old M & C but i just never got to say anything before.

Yes, it does make a good point, Jane. I hope something will happen to them eventually. And, yes, I think Maerad will have many loves before she fully understands the feelings between her and Cadvan, but she's on her way, isn't she? I mean...

in the Riddle, Maerad fell in love with the Winterking, maybe after that, she will not be afraid to love a someone, especiaaly a person that is as caring as Cadvan...

P.S. Sorry Becks and all the other peeps who are bored with M&C...
