Relationships in the book

hmmm, babies, eh? I find the 'relationship' between Maerad and Cadvan to be something that is not stable, in the sense that it is not one way or the other and will prove to have to make one or both of them face some difficult truthes, if you know what I mean.

But that's just me :p for baby names, how about Cadrad, or Maevan? :D

AWW! thats SO CUTE XD

Cadrad and Maevan heheheheh XD
yesh I LOVE C+M
they are just..
its like

when cadvan was immeasurably sad while stroking maevan's fingers it was so cute =') and the things he said about Love and not denying Love that was so meaningful. Beautiful writing Alison!

No guys, wait: I'VE GOT IT!!!

'Maerad gazed at Sharma and realised, with an odd jolt, that she no longer felt any hatred for him. Instead she felt an immense pity welling within her heart, and started to realise, as she watched him, that despite the loose grey skin that made him look about a thousand years old, and the breath that stank like a mixture of wet dog and mouldy old fish, he was actually very handsome.
She drew closer to him, and whispered, "I think you're beautiful."
He returned her gaze, tears welling in his eyes. "I've- I've been so lonely," he gasped, beginning to sob.
"But never again," Maerad replied. "Because I love you. Love, love, LOVE you!!"
They embraced. Suddenly, Maerad remembered Cadvan, stood gingerly behind her. She turned, fixing him with a cold stare. "What do you want, old man? Go home."
"Yes, ma'am." '

And that, my friends, is how love will save the day. :D

That....would be extremely funny in the book, LOL , but, the love power thingy...don't think it will make it in the book! lol:D ...

(omg...poor Cadvan......lol)

The Elidhu are fascinating because they are immensely powerful yet sensitive and vulnerable at the same time. They can be cold and cruel but also have a great capacity to love. Arkan possesses frightening powers but is unable to heal his own broken heart.
The relationship between Arkan and Maerad is really interesting. How much of Maerad's desire for Arkan comes from her and her Elidhu blood, and how much is because he has 'bewitched' her?

Oh ye i still quite don't understand how Maerad has the Elidhu blood..... ..please somebody tell me!!

i think it was in the gift somewhere after the meeting with the elidhu... anyway i don't think it quite says just that cadvan says that he heard there were rumors but refused to believe them, but apparently they were true. it probably got in the house of karn same way thoroldian blood did. cadvan said that the house of karn had some intermarriages with them... but do elidhu get married?.... and there was that love with ardina and arkor (i think)

i dont know if that helped :D
