Well... Zelika died and everything...

Nah, I'm kidding, I don't think it would happen, but if you JUST read the first two chapters... Hem is a little overly obsessed... though I understand where he's coming from. :p

Well, Hem has never had anyone who really payed attention to him in the way Saliman does. Like Maerad when she first gets to Innail. She sort of thinks as Silvia as "hers." Saliman is sort of the father figure to Hem that Silvia is as a mother figure to Maerad. Niether of them really remember their parents, and the idea of having someone who actually seems to care about them and is looking after them is something entirly new.

Sharma: *from somewhere under Nelac* Yo, M!
*Leg sticks up in the air and is pulled down by a hand*
Cadvan: Wanna join in?
Maerad: Er...
Saliman: *sitting on Arkan's head* C'mon, it'll be fun!

Dernhil: Yeah, we're not even halfway through yet...

i dont think the age thing is mcuh of an issue in reality people end up with people 20 years older than themselves and in the pellinor books bards live much longer lives so i guess it may not be that unusual for them to end up with someone ..older.........although i dont think anything would happen between maerad and cadvan until mearad was a bit older.
