Hi all,

thought I'd start a thread for the Aussie Nat Con next year which will be
in my home town of Brisbane. Australian GOH will be Sean Williams. International GOH to be announced but it's gonna be a biggie!

I'll post updates from time to time. So if you were ever planning a holiday down under this is the time to come. You know what they say about Brisbane...beautiful one day, perfect the next...

In the meantime I'm looking forward to this years natcon in Hobart with all those wild tassie devils. Thylacon (http://www.thylacon.com)

Hmmm... I'm guessing that Conjure isn't being held in January or you wouldn't dare be bandying about that Tourism Queensland spin... not in the month when you can have your clothes steam pressed while you wear them, just by stepping outside!

What month is Conjure?

Hah! Come on now Bren, you loved it! What's a writing boot camp without
a little environmental stress as well. Now you can say how truly tough you are :)

Conjure is in April

I was lucky, because I love heat, so I only felt uncomfortable for three of the six weeks but there were other environmental stresses... like the plague of ants, the endless security system beeping, the old bong water stench in the carpet, the removal of laundry facilities for days on end, the continually vapourising alcohol... it was like someone was trialling Big Brother stressors on us... and there was that Big Brother connection you know, and our Clarion was well-funded... hmmm? (Paranoia keeps me safe.)

Anyway, Conjure sounds like fun. I wonder if I pack my tent if I can find a friend with a lawn up there... altho, I probably deserve a bit of luxury this time. Stuff the tent.

Conjure has announced Cory Doctorow as international guest, and Sean Williams as OZ GOH.

If you feel like a holiday in Paradise - then Conjure is the place to be in April 2006

Well, we've heard about what you get up to at conferences Marrianne.

If you could just explain exactly what Dirk is doing to you here please, before we decide whether it is safe to attend one of these cons:

WOOHOO!

The other big news is that Bruce Sterling has confirmed as the second international GOH.

Lineup now stands at BSterling, C Doctorow, Sean Williams, Kim Wilkins and Jonathon Strahan (guest editor)

Gonna be big guys. Don't miss it!
