 They're having an AFFAIR!

Watch the tabloids! tomorrows headlines - "Cadvan on WILD PARTY bender with mystery girl!... Mrs Cadvan in shock... threatens pitch fork usage!"

I had this weird feeling the other night that Hem might die in the end. . .despite the joke made at the beginning of this thread. . .I mean eventually Cadvan or Hem will die. . .an important character always does. . .and we know Oron will die. from the Innail chapter in The Gift. . . .

Whether or not Hem dies in The Singing, I don't know; but I'm positive he'll live through The Crow. I don't really have any truly good reason for believing this; just that
1) Basically, it's ABOUT him
2) I think Alison said somewhere that The Singing starts off with alternating POVs, I assume between Maerad and Hem
3) I know an important character will die, but I think he's TOO important; he still has too much of a part to play. If he's going to die, I'd say it will be in the climax of the Singing or somewhere like that
...And, so on. I can't really think of the others, but they were there. I am sure Hem will survive the Crow.
Saliman seems the most likely death-to-be to me, I think simply b/c he fulfills the role of Hem's mentor, friend and father-figure, and therefore is doomed.

...I'm a cynicist.

Firelily i said he would die eventually! lol. . .possibly some time during The Singing. and yes i do agree with Saliman dieing possibly in The Crow but he will eventually. . . .

Yeah i agree, there is no way that hem can die, cos it would totally break maerads heart, but Saliman has got so attatched to hem it would seem like the perfect injustice for him to die.

i think that makes sense, if not, i mean that it would seem to be a normal litary (sp?) twist/event, wouldn't be too drastic, but would help bring the story along together
