Sorry to burst your bubble but it can't be the Wnterking (unfortunately) because the Crow is happening at the same time as the Riddle when Maerad is "faliing in love" with him -mutters-

Could it be Hem???????????????????????
In the Riddle, on page...something, I can't exactly remember it, but Maerad had a dream. she dreamt that her mother and Hem were in a tower, and she was trying to get inside but there was no door that could allow her to get in, and Hem and her mother were just starring at her. When she woke up, she said something about the dream, that suggests Hem was dead with her mum...???????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????

I think we can safely say that Maerad and Cadvan don't die:Quote:

Ummmm sorry to bust your bubble, but while reading the apendices of The Riddle i happened to come across a disturbing statement that some 'researchers' believed that Cadvan and Maerad may not have actualy written the Naraudh Lar-Chane , that it was written by somebody else (Saliman, Hem etc) and filed under Cadvan and Maerad's names for whatever reason, therefore nothing is certain  . It's on pg 456 of the Australian Edition if you'd like to check, near the bottom.

i thought it would be him at first but then decided that Saliman dying would be too similar to Cadvan's "death" in the Riddle
i think it will be someone who was only a minor role in The Gift and The Riddle but becomes more important in The Crow
hey my first spoiler thingy! :D

Personally I'd disagree with the researchers. Filing a book under one, or two, dead Bards' names seems to be rather misleading, and Bards have this emphasis on the truth. Even if they're not outright lying, misleading might also be seen as lying in Bardic eyes as you're deliberately guiding a person away from the truth. I can't imagine a Bard actually doing that.
