ha! having recently watched star wars: revenge of the sith and i totally agree with alison and mrs. cadvan; hayden christensen is quite a disappointing actor. the actors in there are all wooden and an unemotional lot. it may be his acting abilities are quite poor or the cause of this woodiness is to be blamed on the director and producer.
so even though hayden is good looking and he has no wrinkles the movie has proved that he is not suitable to play cadvan. in fact the the cast did a poor job in trying to empathise with the characters. so i apologise if i covered you in slime. :o

I agreed totally agreed!! Though I personally think it's the fault of the director because there were some actors in there which are usually not that bad, example Ewan Mcgregor, and who in this film were really really wooden!!

Anyway back onto topic, I don't think Scotland would be a good idea. It 's very beautiful and everything up there but it's too modernised. I mean there are lots of telephone and electricity lines up there which i might add are not mentioned in the books!! :p And if they try to do shots of scenery, etc you may get cars or stuff going along in the bottom of the picture. They had this problem for that new version of Kidnapped (which I might add was quite good) and they had to go and film it in of all places New Zealand!

Some of Scotland is modernised. Not all of it, surely? What about all the sweeping glens and highlands??
Another place I think would maybe be good is the Lake District (the English one). Parts of that are absolutely stunning...

I LOVE these books-their great...but movies!? I still havent quite worked out what I think Cadvan looks like yet! I think the books should be left alone..so everyone can have thier own image of the characters.....
My main concern would be who would play Cadvan!?
I've kind of got an image of a v. good looking aragornish type guy...strong, gentle etc.... ...who knows!?
