omg! i found the ultimate match for maerad!!!

- She's new
- She's gorgeous...

It's Olivia Thirlby!

Oh and yes just to let you guys know.......I'M in love with Johnny, ever since Sleepy Hollow. WOA, is it just me who's getting really hyped right now! hahha

so yes, johnny's always my first choice, but like i said before, NEW is better.

... I'm not seeing Maerad in Thirlby...

Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors but he's a little small to be Cadvan
don't you think?

Maerad... I see more along the lines of Rachael Cook with blue eyes.

omg... I was looking at some of the newer posts in here and I saw some about Alexis Bledel... she's perfect for Maerad, if they made a movie the director should so cast Alexis as Maerad!

Alexis is perfect for the job *even though theres not a job to be perfect for yet*. If there was a movie made I'd definatly buy it... but there is the possibility that it would turn out horribly & might discourage people who haven't read the books to not read 'em... it seems pretty hard to make fantasy movies realistically. (Even though LOTR was a hit)

stop being pessimistic.

sure, i know what you said could happen. But that is just the minority of people. Take Harry Potter for example, i never had read any of the books before the movies came out, but since then, i do now. Or LOTR.

If Pellinor was made into a movie, i strongly assume that the MAJORITY of people would not be "discourgaed", in fact, they are provoked to buy the book and read it. And plus, the movie would advertise the book and there would be more book sales and more popularity, since Pellinor is not largely known. We just need to make sure they hire the right director.

So, be optimistic. Pellinor as a movie + the right director = MORE READERS

I never said it would be bad, but I said there was a possibility that with the difficulty of creating a fantasy and doing the books justice that it might not come out a hit, and people might be discouraged in buying the books.

For example, the childrens book Ella Enchanted. I loved that book and when the movie came out I was so disapointed because now when people hear about the book they don't give it a second thought because the movie came out bland.

With the right director Pellinor movies would be amazing, what I'm saying is that if it turned out like other movies had I would be really disapointed... and I never meant to turn this into an argument, either.

hahah sorry

i didn't mean to sound mean. Sorry bout that. Forgive me. I can be a bit argumentative.

Anyway, i see what you mean. Well, movies can go one way or another. And like i said, we need a good director. (ps. not the one who directed ella enchanted, hahha!)

Its ok, I'm pretty argumenitive myself *as you've probably noticed* lol

So what Pellinor books have you read already? I only fineshed The Gift/The Naming recently and I just ordered The Riddle from amazon.

i've read as much as i can. I've read The Gift, The Riddle and now eagerly anticipating the next. (i've read the first four of The Crow (i think that's what its called) on the internet on alison's webpage)

Dw, i won't spoil anything for you. C'mon, you better get to reading The Riddle. This place is "riddled" with spoilers. hahhaha.

I recon they should merge the first two books as one movie (like they have done in The Series of Unfortunate Events) and hten the other two as the BIG SEQUEL. meh, just an idea.
