Alexis Bledel didn't actually look that bad in those pics... But Elaine Cassidy?!?! No WAY!!! She's seriously ugly (no offense) and she looks older than Rachel McAdams and Rachel's prettier... and she doesn't look that old anyways

She's only 24 actualy, also remember what Alison said, Maerad isn't the 'classic' beauty, she's got unusual feature, IMO Elaine has an usual beauty.

Not to mention, Alexis' acting isn't to crash hot...

http://gilmoregirls.monrezo.be/GilmoreGirls/Photos/AlexisBledel_Pub01.jpg Ok, you've got to admit, she has something of the "Maerad" look there, but she's yet to convince me of her acting ability :D, "Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" was terrible IMO (Read the book instead... )

Yeah, I've heard other people say she can't act...

I rather like Elaine Cassidy - she looks like a Maerad. Nice strong face and, like Gemini says, an unconventional beauty...

Elaine is pretty, but I've never even heard of her so I don't know about her acting.

Alexis Bledel acts in "Gilmore Girls" (a show on abc) and she's a great actress... even though sisterhood of the traveling pants wasn't a hit.

well i'm going with aras. in my opinion, alexis is perfect for the role. Beautiful, brunette, blue-eyed, smart (Tuck Everlasting) and has potential acting skills. I'm not only talking quality, i'm also talking "interest". MOST people know who Bledel is, but who the hell is Elaine? (i've never heard of her before this forum) and because the initial interest (with someone KNOWN) would attract more people to this movie and would be much more profitable.

Plus, Elaine looks much too old.

Thats a good point, Element... I hadn't thought of it yet.

With Alexis' new-found popularity, I wouldn't be surprized that if she starred in it as Maerad there would be many more people interested in it.

I know this is a little biased, but whenever a movie comes out, if it has at least one popular actor/attress in it I feel like it would be a more quality movie.... *shrugs*

I knew 'Gilmore Girls' and that's my point, that show is crap, no offense or anything , i'm fairly sure it's been cancled in Australia....
IMO Alexis just can't act, plus she annoys me.
Also, in relation to attracting viewers, i doubt that she would attract anyone besides tweens and 14-16 yr olds, there are so many other groups who really wouldn't give a f*** about her and probably don't like her 'acting' either.
If you're looking for star power, you'd get it in the minor roles, like with Harry Potter, the three main charaters are unknows (even tho, none of them can really act :D) and everyone else in famous, look how well it has done. I think the problem here is that with Alexis, you're going souly on her looks, we'd be better looking at acting ability IMO, i mean it's not like there will be any movies any time soon.

What is the point of judging on acting ability, when there's no movie project in the works to begin with? It sounds really shallow but you have to judge on looks because thats whats we're going on... Who looks the part
And that Elaine girl is totally ugly!! She's not even unconventially pretty - she's just plain UGLY!! I've tried putting it in a nice way but i think the truth hurts.... She has horrible features and they all go together totally wrong and she looks about 28, and you guys are saying Rachel McAdams looks old? She looks half Elaine Cassidy's age and shes a million times better looking... PLUS, in the books everyone always goes on about how pretty Maerad is, so therefor someone pretty should play her
