I don't think Hem will die. Not before completing some sort of important task for their cause ... well, I hope not.

Question for Alison: Will Hem ever accept his real name, Cai? Or is that part of accepting himself and what he is and the past ... ?

Yea, I was gonna ask the same question.....but was beaten to it :D

Cai seems so much better than Hem......

I think that its kind've of like the two sides of him. Hem, is kind of the product of his difficult past, kind'a dark and blotchy. And Cai is somewhat of his good side, that he's slowly learning to accept.... I dunno, my theories suck. *shrugs*

Hard to talk about with out doing spoilers...the question of Hem's name is quite important (and I think will be very important in the final book). Remember that Hem is his Pilanel name, and Maerad's feeling that he is more Pilanel than she is (ie, that he takes much more after Dorn, their father); his discomfort around Bards might be deeper than just not being used to it, for the Pilanel don't have Bardic Schools. Also, he hasn't received his Truename yet...

*overreacts*

Gasp! He was adopted from birth! He's not a Bard! Gasp! No wait, I've got it, he's Maerad's half-brother! Dorn had an affair outside of his marriage! Or Maerad is a by-product of an affair! Gasp! Scandalous!

Or perhaps Hem is half a Bard. Is that even possible?

*clicks fingers* One of them has got to be right. :p

I have a feeling the correct theory is formulating in my brain but I can't seem to get it off my tongue. Oh, how tantalising the question of Hem's name now seems.

Hi everyone, i haven't logged in for a while, too busy going back to school, but now i'm back! I wonder what Hem's truename is aswell. Maybe his name is "the crow" which would explain the title of the book and the presence of that bird, irk is is it? Maybe we could start a new thread so people can guess what Hem's truename is?

I think that either Hem/Cai or Cadvan will be murdered after Maerad and Cadvan have:
-defeated the evil in their world
-had one night together when they both told each other the truth about themselves...(Cadvan reveals everythhing about himself AND that they love each other.)

 Duh duh duh!!!!!

Anywho..Maerad will loose someone close to her in the end when everyone thinks that all evil has gone.one of the evil guys will have....*dramatic pause and deep voice* SURVIVED!!!

Ease up turbs, hehe :p I think everyone's getting just a little carried away with their imaginations, somehow I don't think Milana or Dorn (Was that his name? I forget, havn't read the book in a while  ) would have had an affair... It would turn into an olden-day-style the Bold and The Beautiful, and we wouldn't want that would we? ;)
