yah i know what you mean even though ive only read it once and i ended up skipping a bunch of parts, i have seen the movie a million times though :D the tower collapsing was a cool scene
you can just imagine the last battle playing out exactly as lotr,
a last alliance of bards fights sharma at the evil city place while giving maerad and hem time to play the treesong thingy, the tower collapses and the hulls die cuz they were bound to sharmas magic yay

I've got the perfect ending.

M has the Tuning Fork in her maimed hand and her lyre in the other. She's staring Sharma down. She gathers all her strengh and begins tuning her lyre while singing the Treesong first in the common tongue, then the Speech, and finally the Elemental tongue. Sharma is getting weaker and weaker. When M is done, she looks at Sharma, blazing withpower, and says something in all three tongues. Sharma screams and explodes with power. Then, he drops dead.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot her happy ending!

m is standing still, staring at the form of Sharma, the cause of her sorrows, the death of her loved ones ,and countless others. She was numb and yet, happy.
Aperson comes running towards her and grabs her around her waist. She looks down to see Hem.
Then, suddenly, Hem is gone and she is in the arms of C.

It is over and the start.

*shrugs* Well they both are bad.

yeah, sounds good. here's one:
maerad and hem find each other at the iron tower and they try to think of what to do w/the lyre and the tuning fork. Suddenly, Sharma comes sweeping down. M and H try not to look at him and think of what to do at the same time. Maerad has an epiphany and i haven't figured out what it is yet, but it half works, albeit draining them of their energy. Hem asks her why it didn't work and Maerad says that she doesn't know. Sharma, although weakened, is still quite strong and gets up to finish the two of them off when maerad realizes that they needed three people to sing the song. i don't really know what happens next tho, help me out  all i kno is that they all sing together in three different languages... or sommat like that

Okay, here's what will happen:
Maerad storms up to Sharma, says 'dude, you are bang outta order!' and then proceeds to kick his ass...
...I'm sorry, I've been surrounded by chavs for the entire day...

...P.S. Laydon, that idea of needing 3 people to play the Song sounds really plausible...Because I always wondered why Ardina - a) told Maerad to escape Arkan (or she said something along the lines of 'you being there was not something i would have wanted') and b) told Cadvan where to find Maerad...maybe she knows that Cadvan has a part to play in this as well, i.e. he sings in Annaren or whatever, Hem in the Speech and Maerad in Elidhu?!?!
I've had a BRAINWAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
