bai_xu June 1st, 2005, 05:18 AM Hello people!
I am just sooo bored (because I have nothing to read anymore), that I decided a good way to pass time, is to dream up ways we can torture and kill Sharma, the Nameless One...And of course, a happy ending for Maerad and Cadvan...
So.....any suggestions???
bai_xu June 1st, 2005, 06:01 AM Oh, okay, i got one!
Maerad and Cadvan carefully made their way up the slippery slope, occasionally slipping under a loose stone. After a period of walking with constant care, they reached their destination: Sharma's dungeon. It was dark and tall, towering over them like a lifeless giant, where the merest sound might awaken it from its dreamless sleep...
Cadvan looked at Maerad and nodded. They both closed their eyes and sent out their hearing, but nothing stirred inside the building, if a building it was. Then, quite suddenly, a thunderous roar came within the gates of the dungeon, so powerful it knocked the pair off their feet.
"It's began," said Cadvan.
Maerad took a deep breathe and willed her power to swell within her. Soon, she was nothing but a material covering the brightest flame a Bard could make. Cadvan walked behind her, and placed his glowing hand onto her shoulder, and transferred his magic from his glowing hand into Maerad's body. They waited, and waited , and waited for the gates before them to open, to reveal their enemy that had caused them so much grief and misery...
When it did open, it stood someone they had not expected; a little old man, barely taller than Hem, stood in front of them and looked into Maerad's eyes.
Maerad felt the light within her dim a little, but forced herself to look directly back. Not lowering her gaze, she walked slowly, but steadly towards the old man.
"Hello, Sharma, I finaly got to meet you,"Maerad said.
Tears welled up inside Sharma and he burst into tears.
"What the hell..." Cadvan still stood behind Maerad, but he no longer had his hands on her shoulder.
After the crying had subsided, Sharma said :" I'm sorry, I did not want to cause so much evil in the world. It was never meant to be like this."
Maerad and Cadvan frowned.
"Tell us what happened," replied Cadvan, who now stood beside Maerad.
" It was my rabbit, Fluffy, she wanted to eat something else rather than lettuce, so I asked her what, and she said she wanted chocolate, and I told her it's too rare, we are not in the 21st century after all, and she started blackmailing me with stuff like, well if you don't get me chocolate, I will bite your teddy, Booboo. Imagine the agony I was in!"
Maerad and Cdavan nodded sympathetically.
"Anyway, so I went out and got her some choclate. But if was not enough!!! It was never enough fro Fluffy! After that, she wanted to watch TV drama, and you know full well it doesn't exist, so I had to get people to act it out for her. that only satisified her for a little while because shortly afterwards, she wanted to watch the film, Lord Of The Rings. I couldn't possibily act anything out like that for her, with just a few people, so I had to get the whole country involved, and started a war that was a bit like the film, and one thing lead to another..." sharma had started crying again.

bai_xu June 1st, 2005, 08:33 AM More weird stuff my brain just came up with:
Maerad moved closer to the crumbling man before her, and awkwardly patted his back. Cadvan appeared to be thinking, for his face was shadowed with thoughts. Finally, he spoke.
"Is that roar made by Fluffy?"
Sharma sniffed and replied:"Yes, you are correct. I have fed her numerously, especially chocolate and crisps, so she's as big as me..."
"I see..."
Maerad looked at Sharma with pity and said," I think you ought to rest a bit, but just a bit, because I am still the Choosen One, and it is said that I have to defeat you no matter what, so i don't want you to be too strong. After all, I don't want to be too weak tonight."
"Oh yes, tonight!" Cadvan suddenly said cheerfully, "tonight we are to attend to Ardina's festival. There will be eating, dancing, Karoke and afterwards, we are to watch a horror movie, then have a fun sleepover!"
Sharma looked up at them enviously. "Oh, how I wish i was not the Nameless one!"
"How we wish too,"said Maerad,"But it's not to be."
"Please, little ones, put me out of my misery, for I have no wish nor will to live now. My life, as I have just realised, has been nothing but a vast emptiness, and not even a flicker of joy has been known, let alone love."
"Okay then!" Cadvan said, "the less hassle it is, the more quickly we will see our friends!"
So Maerad and Cadvan joined their powers together once more, and a burst of light, in the shape of a bottom, squashed Sharma into a meatpie. Suddenly, a giant white rabbit leaped out of the dungeon and searched for the food which it had smelt. Just when it was about to eat it, the glowing bottom squashed the rabbit as well.
Maerad and Cadvan smiled as they felt the burden of the quest lifted from the shoulders, and joined their hands. They stood facing each other, and embraced, this time with a passion they had not expressed before. The sun suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and shined upon them and the land beyond. They let go of each other, and walked towards the sun. Under their feet, flowers grew, over their head, butterflies flew. The land of darkness had turned into a paradise of life. All was right again.
Maerad suddenly felt like singing, and her beautiful and magical voice woke every single creature from their long sleep. Cadvan, still holding Maerad's hand, joined in.
"The hills are alive with the sound of music
With songs they have sung for a thousand years
The hills fill my heart with the sound of music
My heart wants to sing every song it hears
My heart wants to beat like the wings of the birds
that rise from the lake to the trees
My heart wants to sigh like a chime that flies
from a church on a breeze
To laugh like a brook when it trips and falls over
stones on its way
To sing through the night like a lark who is learning to pray
I go to the hills when my heart is lonely
I know I will hear what I've heard before
My heart will be blessed with the sound of music
And I'll sing once more"
THE END
Eamane Elendil June 1st, 2005, 11:03 AM oh that ending woz soooo funny!!!
I was chokin myself laughin... nice bit from The Sound Of Music! :D i didnt think that they would go on a quest just 2 kill som1 who wanted to kill himself aniway  lol.
Here's my own 1 :D ... Maerad starts off as a wolf (just so u no) and Cadvan has been taken captive (by order of Sharma) to lure her to the castle.
Maerad approached the castle wall and shivered. She sniffed the air and could smell an evil will protecting the castle, but there were many wolves guarding the castle and Sharma would not be able to sense her as a wolf... for long.
"What took you so long?" A wolf with a white skull painted on his head came forward. "We were waiting for a huge pack of wolves to come ages ago... where are they?"
Maerad quickly came up for a good excuse, remembering the massive load of wolves she and Cadvan had attacked earlier on.
"They got killed before I got here. I need to bring a messege to... erm..." what would wolves call Sharma? "to the Master."
The wolves looked at each other and the leading wolf sniffed in suspicion, but the name seemed to pass ok, so she relaxed.
"Tell us and we'll tell him." He growled.
Maerad thought quickly. "I was told to tell him, no-one else."
"Come with me then."
She was led into the castle, where she felt herself changing back into a human. Sharma's evil will was forcing anything that came through to it's normal shape, and she could not hold on for long. As the wolf lead her around a narrow passageway full with dirt and small drops of water trickling from cracks, she suddenly let go of herself and she felt herself changing. The wolf looked back and howled, but Maerad got him right between the eyes with a white flame, and he crumpled to the ground, dead.
She sighed and tried to relax, but she knew she had given herself away and Sharma could now recognise her.
She rounded a corner, running as fast as she could, and came to the tallest door she had ever seen. It opened without her doing anything and she walked in, to find the door shut behind her with a loud SLAM!!!
"Welcome, Elednor of Idil-Amarandh. I have been waiting."
There stood Sharma, the Nameless One, looking so sick and helpless she almost sighed with relief, only to find him attack her with a bolt of black nothingness. She had let her guard down and fell to the floor gasping for breath.
"What have you done with Cadvan?" Maerad hissed, her teeth gritted.
"Oh, he's fine." He said. "He's just out cold with a pain like death attacking everything in his body as it finds it, but it goes too slow for my liking."
Another bolt of black hit Maerad on the stomach and she knew if she took one more hit, then she would die, and so would the rest of the world.
Do it for Annar. She repeated to herself. For Cadvan...
She was suddenly overcome with a powerful longing and hope to be in his arms again when she suddenly realised she still had the blackstone. She fumbled in her pocket with her last bit of strength and held it up as another bolt of black came at her. The Nameless One's ancient face grew wild with anger and fear as a bolt hit him. Because he was so old, the next could be the last thing he felt.
"Where did you get that?" He thundered. "Only my Hulls can carry and controll those!"
Maerad shot a bolt of fire at him and he withered and died, screaming, and everything vanished.
She sighed with relief and exhaustion, and found Cadvan running up to her.
"Maerad, are you OK?"
"Yes" She replied and trembled as Cadvan gave her a kiss.
No-one knows what happened next, all that is known is that she had a baby nine months later.
THE END
bai_xu June 1st, 2005, 05:37 PM Oh!!! a baby!!! The miracle of life!!!
I like the bit where Maerad has to be turned back into her usual form, and when she uses the blackstone thingy... but thebest thing is still the baby!!! Lol, I wonder what they'll call him/her... maybe Cadrad? Maevan??? well...you never know, lol.
Alison, we have a lot of ideas running wild here!
alison June 1st, 2005, 07:17 PM Alison, we have a lot of ideas running wild here!
Wild indeed! takes notes :D Book 4 could be verreee interesting....
Becks June 1st, 2005, 07:50 PM Hey how about this, it just came into my mind!!!!!!!
Maerad stood in front of a large tower, it was dark and cold. She knew that Sharma, the Nameless one, was close to the bottom. Maerad was reluctant to even aproach it, she didnt feel safe near it. It was overwhelmed with a sense of death and this spooked both Cadvan and Maerad. Suddenly, they both saw a sight that disturbed them both, two bodies lying on the floor near them, one they realised instantly. It was Nerili, and the other body was hard to tell, and they couldnt guess who it could be. Nearby they heard two voices, a mans and one that sounded inhuman.
"They are near I can tell." the inhuman voice said,"They must be destroyed, send the army out, before its to late!!" The man didnt say anything but Cadvan could tell that he was coming towards them.
"Get your bow ready."Cadvan whispered. Maerad obayed. The man walked through the door and didnt notice Maerad and Cadvan. They shot him in the head and he fell to the floor, with a blood curdling cry. Sharma rushed out through the door, and Maerad shot him. It didnt afect him, instead he absorbed it and grew in power. He turned and saw Maerad glowing with power. She thought for a second and brought out her lyre and played the Treesong, with fingers of light, a little while later Cadvan brought out his lyre and they played the unhole song together, suddenly Sharma fell to the floor.
"Stop it, stop it!!!!!!!!!!" He yelled, with hatered. "You are so stupid you cant even play the song right." He grabbed Maerads lyre and played the song. Not knowing that Maerad and Cadvan knew that the song they had was played wrong. They knew that as soon as Sharma played the song he would be weak and then the would kill him, even though he may be weak no normal bard could kill him only Maerad, The Choosen One, could banish him forever.
Sharma played the song and as soon as he finished he felt the power drain out of him.
Maerad picked out the appropriate spell and cast it, it consumed his body in a coat of light and just as it was about to kill him, his last few words were: "I only wanted to feel powerin my veins, all my life I was powerless and this was........." He inflated and eventually burst, his grey blood splattered over Maerad, then she noticed Cadvan was gone....
No he wasnt she could she his motionless body on the floor. She thought and could only come up with this conclusion:He was a part of Sharma, as soon as Sharma died Cadvan died to....
There was a note in his hands it said, Im not gone forever, Im with Hem, dont worry.
In the distance she saw Hem running towards her, she looked for Cadvan behind him. He was not there.
Irc followed Hem. Where was Cadvan she thought to herself.
"Hello Maerad." Cadvans voice said.
She looked up and saw a black bird hovering next to Irc and it transformed in to Cadvan.
"I wasnt with you whilst you fought Sharma I was too weak, that was only a figure of me."He said and tilted his head to the dead body on the floor.
She embraced both Hem and Cadvan.
"I dont know how id live without you." she sobbed.
The darkness that flooded the land turned into light and Maerad saw Nerili wasnt dead, because she saw her shake her head and stand up, she was merely under a sleeping spell. Cadvan ran over to Nerili and embraced her too. Hem held tightly to his sister and cried as well. She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned aroun to see 2 ghostly figures, her mother and her father standing behind her. They turned to real people, Maerad was completely shocked and dumbstruck. Her parents said,in unison:"You did it, you restored all the inoccent lives."
Cadvan sat on the floor and heard footsteps behind him, he turned around and saw Ceredin arms outstreched and grabbed hold of him.
Meanwhile in Innail, Silvia sat in her chamber, then there was an unexpected knock at the door. She opened it and saw Clavila standing there. Clavila cried, Silvia cried, Malgorn came to see what was happening then saw his daughter and he cried too.
In Dernhils study, a ghostly figure of Dernhil appeared and then it turned completely human. He was shocked as he thought he was dead.
Maerad thought to herself, if all innocent lives were restored them Dernhil would be as well.
She could have another chance!!!! Everyone could!!!!!!!!
I dont think that that is how the story will end but i might as well have written it as im readin Abhorsen!!!!! Hey i must be sooooo clever i can do 2 things at once!!!!
bai_xu June 2nd, 2005, 06:32 AM Becks, when I was half way thru reading it, I thought Cadvan had died!!!! But he didn't of course, Cadvan couldn't die! If Cadvan's old lover is alive again, and so is Dernhill...that means Maerad and Cadvan couldn't be together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :( But apart nfrom that, it's all happy endings!
Leonie June 2nd, 2005, 06:43 AM These ideas are brilliant!!! They had me rolling oaround with laughter!! Especially the rabbit!! :D
