My point exactly. Although Howl's Moving Castle was taken quite seriously and was apparently very good...which is why if the movies have to be animated, they'd better be Miyazaki!

How about, if we must annimated, we just annimate the special effects and keep the people an that real.

i don't really think the movies should be animated. i don't want to get lynched for saying this, but umm... it's not exactly us who will be choosing the actors/actresses. i mean, mayb alison should be the one making the decisions...not that there aren't already a billion decisions to be made out there, i'm just saying.... it will just seem more.....real if it's not animated. i mean, take a look at "enchanted" (the movie). it's pretty cool how they made those old disney movies come out in new york and everything.

I do NOT want the movies to animated b/c they usually screw those up big time. They make the people look all goofy and weird and it messes with your mentall image of them.

With normal people they make it more realistic and interesting b/c you can actually see REAL emotions on their faces.

Have you even see a movie made by Studio Ghibli? the type i meant when i made this thread was the Hayao Miziyaki/Studio Ghibli style anime. They converted Howl's Moving Castle into a book and whilst it did deviate from the plot line slightly the writer was extremly please with the result. They also made Tales from Earthsea into a movie. They deviated quite alot from the plot (or so i have been told by the clever people of sffworld) but the author was pleased.

Ive always found that the Studio Ghibli movie, especially the ones Hayao Miziyaki makes to be extremly realistic in their portrayl of people and emotions as well as having extremly BEAUTIFUL (like mind blowingly beautiful) scenery.

Go look at the trailers on youtube or something. They are awesome. Id suggest (if you were to watch one) to start with either Spirited away or Princess Mononoke.

Thats why i questioned animation, because they are so amazing. It'd have to be studio Ghibli though. nothing else would cut it.

ok then off to youtube
you mean this right?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAmTaGVvmRc
yah its good im sure it would be great and they'd have less chance of completely messing it up but i think one with actual people would have the potential to be better (like the lotr movies are better then any animated version you could do, at least in my opinion)

EWWWW! NO ANIMATION!!!!! I just hate it with a fiery passion....so....ugly.....:D

Don't ask why I hate it...Maybe because Japanese animation just freaks me out...big eyes, pursed lips....**shivers** The other animation types are just goofy, which is why I hate 'em.
