Miyazaki does seem to really like strong female protagonists so he would probably like the character of Maerad alot.

yes, someone asked him about that, and all he could say was "I just like young women"

...okay I know that sounded really wrong but I think he meant their spirits or personalities and stuff :D :D :D ;)

besides, have you ever tried translating japanese on Google? It goes all freaky-deaky and out of order, it'll sound like this:

book alison Croggon we sell movie make you please? :D :D :D omg that would be hilarious :D but we could still try :D :p

Non-animated, 'Why?' you ask *ahem* Have any of you ever heard of the animated version of LotR.....

I thought so :D
Yeah, but the Bakshi one is pretty bad.(Rankin Bass was pretty good though...*ehem* *bashes self with baseball bat*Stay on topic Andy)
I'd like normal actours and actresses. I don't have a problem with animation, it's just not my favourite, esp. if it is badly done. Plus, I think the action-fantasty-type movies are better done with real people (ex., Lord of the Rings, Narnia, the Matrix, Ridley Scott movies, etc etc etc).
That's just me though.
