If someone utilizes the spoiler tags, then I'd like to ask you respond to their 'possible' spoilers within the tags as well, since if you don't...it completely defeats the original intent of hiding the text. Thank you ^_^.

Anyways, I'm a huge fan of both Saliman and Irc, especially. I haven't finished The Crow yet, although I suspect to be done with it sometime shortly, within the next day or two [as like any Croggon book, I can't put it down]. I like Saliman much more than Cadvan, as I'm discovering while reading more of The Crow. He just seems much more real, I suppose, albiet I'll admit I'm slightly out of touch with Cadvan's character, having not read The Naming or the Gift recently (well actually, I did reread The Gift a few days prior to ordering The Crow, about a week ago, so I suppose that's not a very good argument, heh).

It's hard to explain, and explaining it to a forum full of Cadvan-a-holic's isn't going to make it any easier to understand, so bear with me :P. I guess it's because of the intimaces between Hem and Saliman, their father-son like relationship and the emotions Allison so expertly illustrates through their actions and thoughts. I'm certainly not saying she doesn't focus on Cadvan and Maerad's relationship, as it's quite obvious she does...but Saliman and Hem's bond seems much more appealing to me.

I found the part when Saliman gave permission for Hem and Zelika to undergo Hared's training particularly moving, the 'pain in his gaze' Allison eluded to, although didn't blatently display.

Their loving, family-like relationship, although not spoken of often, just seems a lot more appealing, and it makes Saliman better of a character, as if he isn't a great enough creation already. I can imagine, and see the chapters much more than I can with Cadvan & Maerad, although their relationship is clear in my mind as well, but that's for another thread.

Now, moving onto the amazing-ness that is Irc!

If Irc had his own book (or series), I'd be an avid reader, despite the fact that he happens to be a bird :P. The intelligence he holds, while still retaining the bird-brain, and tendancies of his species is hilarious, and intriguing to read. He developes more and more as a character than I expected, and he's quickly gaining more and more of my interest at the part of the book I'm at at the moment.

Hem has infiltrated Sjug'Hakar Im, the Cur Camp, I just stopped at the chapter The Blind House to type this post, and now that I'm talking about it I'm pretty sure I'll stop rambling soon, like I said before, I can barely put the book down!

So in short, both Saliman and Irc (although I'm confused why they were grouped into one thread, they each deserve their own I say ^_^) are awesome. Two more masterpieces of the Pellinor Series that definitely deserve some praise. *waves Saliman and Irc flags*

The relationship is very sweet..although Hem doesn't really seem to appreciate it alot of the time, in my humble opinion
