I am going to revive this thread.
Saliman is awesome.
That is all.
;)
Actually, it isn't. Irc's pretty cool too. But why is there one thread for the both of them!?

We can always talk about him and Hekibel. Speaking of.. I don't think she has a thread, the poor woman!
I wonder how long it took for them to get engaged, after The Singing? They certainly seemed close by the end, although they hadn't really been together for very long. I'm not a good judge of time when it comes to a book's plot, but I'd say they only knew each other for a month or so, and were only in love for half, a third of that time.
And on the Irc side of things! Think he stayed the King's Messenger for the rest of his life?

Yeah, I think Irc MUST have his own thread, while Hekibel and Saliman must share a thread.:p
Yes, they became very close near the end of the book.. hm... I wonder if they only felt infatuated?

It's possible, although I expect that Saliman, being a Bard, would only take the feelings that he felt very deeply seriously and recognize any passing affections for what they were. Hekibel isn't a Bard but she seems to be wise enough to do that too.
Chances are we only saw them falling in love in the book, something all couples initially do, but then the 'falling in love' part began to change into a truer, deeper love, something you can only see in happily married couples. I do believe it was said in the appendices that they had five children, after all! ;)
