Outside of 1st person?

I have a feeling I've already asked this before, but do you think it would be alright to make chapters in a pattern where it is 1st person, 3rd person, 1st person, 3rd person?
The 3rd person is about a seperate character who eventually finds the main character and brings the story to a close.

Go for it, don't get so hung up on the changes that the story reads wierd though.
