oh and somewhere in the riddle Maerad closed her eyes and she could see Arkan's blue eyes and she doesn't want to see his eyes, she tried to remember Cadvan's blue eyes and couldn't remember it and all she saw was Arkan's blue eyes... SO i was wondering, does that sort of imply that she sort of liked Cadvan in a romantic kinda way? Why else would she try to remember CADVAN's BLUE eyes of all people? :cool: :rolleyes:

so.. anyway... how do you think Maerad feels about Cadvan? do u think she sort of started to like him in a romantic way?... with her trying to remember his blue eyes, and being jealous of Nerili, etc?

I still think that the reason Maerad couldn't remember Cadvans eyes is because the Winterking was twisting her feelings for all her loved ones into feelings of love for himself. So even though she thinks she loves Arkan she is actually feeling the love she has for her friends when she thinks about him.
And when she get's far enough away from him or finds out her true name she will realise this and become aware of her feelings for Cadvan. *nods head* that's my theory and i'm sticking to it :rolleyes:

Much and all as I'd like to believe that, I think Maerad's feelings for Arkan were pretty genuine. I remember someone asked Alison if Arkan had manipulated Maerad into feeling that way. I think the answer went something like no he didn't make her feel that way, so much as he used the feeling she had for him against her.
But that just shows what a prick [excuse my language] Arkan is, and therefor Maerad deserves the sweet suger muffin that is Cadvan :D
