im trying lol, usualy random ideas assualt me when i begin to relax, eg in bath. But i never plan them. This time i'm working on one which im planning, got quite far...i think lol but being ill means im stuck in bed a lot so i cant work on it

I don't really want to think of you in the bath thanks Ollie..:D

iknow exactly what you mean also it's annoying when you realise that there are "influences" from other books there. That's why i've discovered planning lol (im gonna big this up now )
I know what you mean-I thought I had an awesome idea-then realised I had read a little known book with the exact same plot-I had just forgotten about it, allowing my brain to regurgitate it as my own..Damn it. it was so good as well...

Ha, I've been writing books since I was eleven... I get about 5 chapetrs in and then forget for some reason or another... usually, it's poems for me. that and short stories.

except I do have this one novel that has been going along quite nicely for nearly a year...

or you could say that...how many of us here have hopes to publish a book? or at least write one?

*raises hand* i've been working!! alot of my writing is sorta shown in the serious fanfic.

I do the notebook thing-all my best ideas come to me just as I'm dropping of to sleep.I do poetry instead of stories though-I honestly can't write stories when I have to.:o

I am a superb promoter of the notebook technique. I carry mines with me EVERYWHERE, yes this includes the movie theater & the pool :], and I do a lot of stuff in them. And when they're all used up, I keep them! So I've got about 200 notebooks floating around.

Also, I have this things with my friends where we give eachother topics and rules to follow, and then we write according to whatever those rules are. we also instate time limits :] It's a great way to learn how to write on a whim. I'll give you some examples???

Ooookay back on topic now before Bridie or Gem kills us! [sorry bridie and gem!]

Alison can just so poetically capture emotions, even those that aer impossible to describe. Another wonderful reason.

There is a radio 4 show over here called Just A Minute-where contestants have 'just a minute' to talk about a completely random subject, from any point of view-there can't be hesitate, repetition or deviation-it is so funny.:p :D anywho-M&C-nothing wrong with repetition at all!:D
