Erm, yes, finished The Riddle last week and had this scene floating around in my head from page 133:

I hope Ms. Croggon does not take offense to my using some of her lines in the doodle. :)

While I like Cadvan on the right, I'm not too keen on either rendition of Maerad... for some reason Cadvan comes clearer to me than she does and I still haven't figured out a design for her. That and this was done hastily and I admit to spending more time on Cadvan than the two Maerads... he's much cuter, you know! ;)

As for other people’s works…

Fionnoula – your Maerad has such a great… tenderness. I think I’ve used that word before but it fits. My art lacks a certain sensitivity so I think I pick up on it more in other people’s works…

Gemini – I can definitely tell what Maerad is thinking in this… or at least, it gives me the impression of her being quite annoyed. Great job!

Thanks Samatha, i already said this in your comments thing, but i love the whole comic book thing you have :D.

I tried my hand at Hem and i don't think he's all that bad, cept i drew it really small so the quality isn't very good, i also did another Maerad, from after the end of Riddle, (so a slight spoiler warning) except she she came out with this really haughty look on her face *sigh* oh well :D

Here's Hem http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/21885698/

and 'Haughty' Maerad http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/21885807/

The Maerad one isn't working ... or maybe it's just me. the Cadvan one is good though. You're a good drawer! Much better than I'll ever be, I assure you! :D
