The ending to the sixth book that it. Some guy I was talking to just straight out told me what happens. There was also someone else with me who hadn't finished it....

I hate it when that happens. I finished and have been teasing my friends, but have not, WILL NOT, spoil it for anyone. When Hermoine died....(oops - HA HA HA just kidding)

I have to admit, I spoilt the ending for my friend but she guessed anyway so I just confirmed her theory because she sounded desperate.....and I was always the faster reader so....

That sucks. I would've been extremely pissed. Luckily, none of my local friends have read the books and the ones that have are in NY and I just avoided them for the weekend. Ha.

I had to tell someone, it was playing on my mind too much. Come to think of it, that's probably why I went crazy with posts on the day I finished. :D

Wow, Spoilers ABOUND! I got it ruined, by accidentally seeing it on this forum.
Then I saw that thing about the guy doing drive by spoilers at a bookstore.
It reminds me of that Simpsons, where Homer walks out of the theatre in 1981 and says "WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE DARTH VADER IS LUKE SKYWALKER'S FATHER!"
Oh well... I'm pretty sad but I will read it anyway.....

The best way to avoid spoilers is to get it on the release date and then read it within 2 days at least. Avoid contact with people you know to be pricks and stay away from the internet! I remember logging on the net when I was half way through... then I got scared and quickely left. Only after finishing did I realise how widespread the spoilers were. The worst example being that drive-by ofcourse. I also heard from a mate about a site that automatically loaded an audio file with some guy shouting out the ending! How pathetic is that? Luckily he dosn't care for the books so no harm done, but still...
Remember, the hysteria surrounding the final book is likely to attract even more attention-driven buffooons with small penis's, so I'd be even more carefull if I were you. I expect it to be truly crazy. Headphones on the bus time I think....

I managed to read the book in 23hours 42 mins i bought it at midnight nad basically did nothin till i finished it.
But my mum wanted to read the book, but my 10 yr old sister came home and shouted who died and who the half blood prince was to my mum.
Fair enough, i gave her a nice shiner on her right cheek.
I love these books but noone shold have any ending to a book spoiled.
Muppets who came online and 'accidently' saw a spoiler. thats your problem, should just keep away until you finished.
(I am nice person really :D )

I managed to stay away from a computer for the 12 hours it took me to read it. The funnier thing is, only me and one other friend had finished the book by Monday, so at school we naturaly couldn't shut up about and whenever someone overheard something we said, they'd loudly sush us and moan on and on about us spoiling the plot... I just thank god i'm a fast reader :D

My studies are finished till I get my results and I haven't got a job so I just refused to leave the house until I'd read it. Although, I was on hol when it came out so I refused to read any papers and came through the airport with my head phones on (which I do to avoid arseholes anyway). Then on the day I went out got pissed and told disscussed the ending in our local luckily no one seemed to mind.
