personally i am a Playstation fan. i have given a lot of consideratuon as to which to system to get. i have looked at controllers, game graphics, types of games, etc. and for me it is still the Playstation. the XBOX360 has one flaw that the PS3 overcame. XBOX is only allowing i believe it is 3 titles to be tranferred to the new one from the old, Halo, Halo 2 and i am not sure of the other. the PS3 can play every Playstation game ever made. and i have heard though i do not believe that it will play all Sega cd and dreamcast games as well. the the XBOX will have only 1 style controller; their own. the PS3 will have thries and many others. .... but what made me say to myself its the PS3; they remade Final Fantasy VII, i saw a comparison of video and gameplay form the original.....WOW is all i can say. it looks like it is real people.....what would you rather XBOX360 or the PS3?

PS3 all the way ;)

This is unfair anyway, it's like a weak 9 year old kid fighting the world's heavey-weight champion :p

Hope you don't end up eating those words, Mike :D.

I don't think the 360 is going to be too bad. Still, I'm all for PS3. I've been a Playstation devotee since I got my PS soon after its release and I'll be one until the day I die. I never liked or wanted an X-box (unfounded prejudice here so forgive me) and, while the N64 and Gamecube piqued my interest, I never bothered shelling out for two consoles. I've always been a specialiser, though I still play SNES. I'll just have to endure all the blab surrounding the 360 until the PS3 makes its amazing debut.

Actually, the 360 will be backwards compatible with "best-selling titles". What this means no one really knows yet, but it will definitely be more than three titles. At launch it may only work with a dozen or so X-box games but they are saying more will be released over Live as time goes on. Definitely not as friendly as the PS3 complete backwards compatibility, but it doesn't bother me. I have an X-box already, I'll just play the old games on that.

XBOX 360! I like everything about my Xbox much more than a PS2.

But I will probably just keep my own Xbox, I don't know if I play enough vids to buy a newer one.

I'm guessing that means they will rework games to work on the new Xbox and release them for the 360 over Live!, only if they are popular enough though. Don't know how that is exactly going to work though, since there is no way a majority of people would pay for a reworked game, unless they make you put in the old game disc everytime you want to play, but it runs off the HD instead. Either way, they should've strived to do complete backwards compatibility like Sony has, that is the single biggest reason they are on top right now.

I heard it's actually going to be software emulation for Microsoft rather than Sony's more reliable hardware so what that means is most of the Xbox games will run on 360 (ie: the most popular ones) but some of the more 'oddly' coded titles, in the main probably japanese - which is to say not many, won't be recognised by the software. It's not so much a case of selling new versions of Xbox games as making the old copies work with the new kits.

Such great consideration that you completely neglected one console.

Anyway, for me it's far too early to make any sort of descision. My firstmost priority, now and always, is the games - a factor increasingly overlooked these days. My loyalty shall be sold to the console with the strongest line-up.

Most people can't have them both ;)

I get the impression that Cwass has done his research and is basing his decision on what they both offer. That's certainly not neglecting one.

I assume Iskaral means Cwass missed Revolution ;) There are after all three next-gen consoles due in the next year or so :D I think in Revolution's favour that back catalogue option, even if it costs a little bit to down load old Snes, N64 and Gamecube games, is fantastic and with it being so much cheaper than the others it may do good business - possibly even as a second console to those less wallet-challenged :D Revolution as was pointed out will come down to the games, Nintendo really needs to drag some top quality 3rd party developers and franchises in, it won't survive on Mario, Metroid, Zelda and the usual suspects in this round of the console wars imo.
