The Gift....No,no The Riddle...Then again..

Gack, too hard! Lets leave it to fate and flip a coin, that's much easier and involves far less brain pain on my part.

I think, a rareity in it's self, that The Gift was a more rounded story as it had a defined beginning, whereas The Riddle was more evolved in it's feel as you already had a sturdy footing as to the atmosphere and insight into the complexities if the world in which they were traveling.

The Gift was sort of exciting because you didn't know what to expect, knew nothing of the characters, world or Bards and it was all fresh and exciting and a new learning curve. New things are always exhilerating when first experianced.

But The Riddle was more developed and progressive, feeding the addiction The Gift first established and extending the story into greater depth, and it's the intricacies that make a book eduring and unique.

But I'd have to pick.....The Gift. I'm an adrenaline junkie and starting a new series is like standing on the brink of a cliff knowing your about to dive into something spectacular and mind-blowing. Plus more Cadvan for your moneys worth! Always a good thing me-thinks. :D

I have to agree.... i simlpy adored The Gift because of all the new places and although there are new places in the Riddle i guess i more of a forest person rather than mountains and ice!

they are both reli reli gud
the gift concentrates more on maerad discoveing her powers
but the riddle shows more of her emotions and relationship with cadvan (no i am not starting on another relationship thingy)

I think both of them are very good, for different reasons:

The Naming/Gift is great because there is alot of character development and we get set up on the overall plot, not to mention all the European-esque culture and landscape.

The Riddle is great because we travell to more exotic landscapes and cultures, meet even MORE cool characters, (*cough*Arkan*cough*and others*cough*:D ) and get filled in on the Treesong, and there are more tasty scenes with Maerad and Cadvan! :D :D :D

Now that I think of it I find myself bending towards the Riddle, but they are both very different and it's hard to judge. Better that than more of the same, eh? :D :p

I like the Gift-cause it's the first and it was what hooked me.
But the Riddle- Because the relationships are getting moe complex
(YAY!M&C4evr) and it's another great book!
I still can't make up my mind.
