From what I hear it's to be released in Autumn 2007. Here's some more on it:

Small update:
Turns out it has been officially named The Power of the Dark Crystal and is now scheduled for 2008 (not sure when exactly).
I didn't realise that Jim Henson had died in 1990. There I was thinking he would be doing the VA for Jen again. :rolleyes:
I wonder why they left such a long time between the two films (25 years)...

I still have the original Dark Crystal hardback with Brian Froud's stunning sketches. Maybe that will be worth something, although my cat did spray the spine - guess he wasn' impressed.
Looking forward to this new one though.
