Favorite color?

In an article I read recently, someone had determined what the most people in the world would say their favorite color was. The top color came in at 40%.

I was wondering how the population of sffworld would stack up with the rest of the world.

So, what's your favorite color?

Another thing. Why do people ask each other about their favorite color? Does the answer really change anything? ("Your favorite color is WHAT? Well, see ya!") Is there some deep psychological information to be gained? Some comfort in knowing she likes a soft color?

For the record, mine is Grey.

B5

BTW--I'll mention the top color later, I don't want to bias the pool.

My guess is that the 40% top colour was BLUE!

Incidentally, I'd say it's my favorite, followed closely by Green.

Grey, that's a strange one...not sure what that say's about you;) What is it about grey that attracts you? Grey is interesting, as in colour theory it takes on the hue of the dominant colours around it. So although it is fairly much devoid of "colour" it's actually vibrant when around others. (That's not a character analysis by the way, just an observation.)

For me, I can never decide between dark green (which I always opt for in clothes) or Orange, which is such a striking and positive colour (I believe it was used by Uri Geller as the very manifestation of positivity with bizarre supernatrual qualitites....hmmmm.)

Here's some info on colour theory for the bored:

and a silly article on colours and personality types for the gullible:

Interesting subject though.

I didn't as a kid, but now I really like Purple. Obviously related to the fact that I'm Royalty :D :p

Umm, my favorite is probably Blue, followed closely by Green, then Yellow.

My favorite color is whichever one I currently have selected for the active color in Photoshop...

I really don't have one other than that.

I have no favourite colour, it's all in the combinations.

However, if it would be about colour of clothing, I notice more of a trend then elsewhere. I prefer to wear darker shades of colors (wine red, black, and dark blues coming out on top), or "pale" colours (anything that doesn't... scream; and - yes - grey is prominent). I once wore a bright yellow T-shirt (out of someones left-over collection; I walked past a mirror in a shop, saw myself and felt uncomfortable for the rest of the day, until I got home and got rid of the piece).

Incidently, the background color of my desktop is grey (the icons surround a centralized picture of a serval [some African cat], so the color is dominant).

I also tend to like the dark green of a fir tree against a bright blue sky (with the occasional whitish glowing cloud for contrast).

Anything else?

Hmmm...

(I think Gemini currently has the Power Puff Girls as her avatar, but that's off topic...)
