hello everyone
i'm looking for a book i read more than 20 years ago... here's what i remember:
author & title: no idea - very likely a british writer
year published: before 1980, i'd say probably in the 1960s
type: children's fiction (i was 8 at the time and i got it from the school library, so it should be a children's book...)
story: all i can remember are little bits - a boy whose father or something was the legitimate ruler of some fictional(?) country (i remember the names sounded somewhat "eastern european" to me), their struggle to get power back from the usurpers. it was a country at war, maybe civil war. the story seemed quite depressing and moving to me, and i'd really like to read it again as an adult.
it's not much to start on, but can anyone give me a hint?
thnx
