I don't think JATE is FATE....no Jack is eugh...Sawyer is way better...no offense if you do like him but eugh...

IMO....
Jack = Teh SEXORS! He's the hero, he's... shexy, my mum prefers him :D, i trust Jack, he's Kate's soul mate, he's not afraid to let his emotions out, he wants to protect Kate, he doesn't sexually objectify Kate, Jate kiss PWNS Skate Kiss (which wasn't even real because Kate was forced to kiss Sawyer to get the puffers for Shannon AND she punched him out afterwards)
Sawyer = PR*CK! example- The frog, he's such an @ss. The Toothpick v.The ELCB, heee. Sawyer get's it on with AnaL, therefore Skate=dead , he wants to be hated, he's a con artist and will always be a con artist therefore- never trustworthy.
Now, don't get these sentiments mixed up with Josh Holloway, i love Josh Holloway, he's the most charming man on the planet :D
And now why Jate is Fate.
Right now, yes, Kate is gravitating towards Sawyer, why? She does have feelings for him (IMO it's mostly lust and a simmering sexual tension that doesn't go any deeper.) and she believes she only deserves Sawyer. Because, to Kate, Sawyer represents her past example from ep 9 What Kate Did She says "Every time i look at you i see Wayne" . Kate recognises the similarities between them, both killers, both on the run, both conners. Kate thinks that she'll never be any better than that. Also, she's reluctant to let go of her past, again is represented by Sawyer.
Jack represents a possible future to Kate, he's what she wants, a normal, secure life, she was bitter that her life had taken such a turning. She had been a "straight a's country girl" and through her parents mistakes she was forced down a road she didn't want. Jack is very similar to Tom, the trustworthy doctor etc etc and that provides another reason she's reluctant to go to him, she's afraid he'll get hurt because of her. Jack will help Kate to let go of her past to move on, that's her characters eventual goal, it's what she wants most, only he can do that for her, Sawyer can't. The producers have said "Sawyer will never change, you get all these women wanting to turn him good, it's not going to happen". Once Kate can learn to let go of her past, of the fear that she'll hurt Jack, then they'll be together, but only then. Also Damon Lindelof said "As the series progresses Kate will want what Jack can provide, a real adult love". Jack and Kate love each other, Sawyer and Kate only have a vague sexual attraction, also the Sawyer/ Kate relationship will be more of a friendship as the series goes on IMO.
Also, Kate has a thing for doctors :D don't you know.
