... but I was reading through reviews for Magician when I came across one which had a huge spoiler. I don't know how easily stuff can be edited, but this is really quite bad (I myself haven't finished the book, and although I'm not overly bothered I know some people might be).
And I quote: "When Prince Arutha dies tragically in an accident..."
I'm sure you've all read Magician and know that he's a major character.
It's the last review on the second page - here (http://www.sffworld.com/brev/bi888p1.html) .

Does that even happen in Magician? I thought Arutha might be around for more books than that....though it has been years, so my memory on that fact could be far, far mistaken.....

I agree with you. After reading the blurb to Silverthorn and A Darkness At Sethanon it seems that he is present in both books....
Now I'm confused.

It's probably a troll of some sort who thinks they're funny by "spoiling" it.
Then again, it looks like he may be talking about all of Feist's canon. In that case, I suppose Arutha has to die sometime, as the books go generation after generation after generation. So maybe that's what happens later. But I guess in that case it's some kind of a spoiler.

It is a very old review and one that has clearly slipped through the net.
And yes the character you refer to is in other books in the series - it looks like a review for the series rather than Magician itself.
I'll see if the cyberelves can beat it into shape. :)

Yes, you're correct. Prince Arutha does not die in the Magician.
He dies later of old age in Feist's latest trilogy in the Talon of the Silver Hawk which was published in 2002
