I love reading (fantasy) ....

Over a year ago i read a book wich was the first of more to come. I loved it but there was no sequel yet. Now i can't seem to remember the title . :(
The story goes as followed:

It begins with a twin (brother and sister) in a desert in search of water. When they find it and drink from it they are found by a desert clan. The clansmen are not very happy about them drinking there water and try to kill them. Well, that doesn't work out... the twins actually get adopted into the clan.
The story continues and explains why the twin was in the desert (they are on a quest to find a kind of weapon to defend their homeland).
They accept being adopted into a clan and are, in turn, accepted by the clan..
In the end they find what they are looking for....

Their homeland is an underwatercity.......

Please, if you recognize this book let me know.
There is no way for me to check if a sequel is out yet otherwise

thx

Sounds like Time Storm, by Gordon Dickson. Travelling with guns, ape-men, doorways/portals/mistwalls...it fits. Google it and let me know if that's your baby.
