hey guys and gals...

im new to dis site, and i was just wondeing y there was not an author forum dedicated to Fiona McIntosh? From my personal experiences, her books come out far more engaging than any of the other authors that have their own forum. (no offence to any1)
So yeah, has this topic been brought up b4 or wat?

I was horrified at Myrren's Gift. I can only conclude it was a young adult book, and wish it was labelled such. It's cover and synopsis doesn't indicate it was.

Young adult? Without going into spoilers, someone gets raped early in the second book, if you know what I refer to and by who. I could laugh at Martin's dirty humour, but that was ridiculously vile . . . for a teen book?

i am perplexed at ur opinion of Myrren's Gift?
exactly what makes it a young adult book?
so really, how can you laugh at one book and be shocked at the next?

Firstly, I'm unfamiliar with net lingo so encrypting your binary is going to take longer to understand. And secondly, are all humans of the same template? Why wouldn't I laugh at one aspect of an author's book, and not feel another emotion for another individual?

no, but you are making a biased decision IMO.
what ur basically saying is:
I found X good despite Y occuring, but Z was shcoking because Y occurred.
do u get wat i mean?

Argh! It's the netspeak virus! It's making otherwise sane people speak gibberish. Please find a cure. Quick.

There are many different ways to write a particular scene, and each author has his (or her) own style. I haven't read either Martin or Fiona McIntosh, but even if both have similiar scenes in their books, it might be that I would prefer one or the other based on their style and general ability in the craft.
