i would love to read Alassë's story :D

you mean MY story? Is snekababs confusing you as well? Alasse wrote a poem, and im in the middle of writing 1 proper length story and a short story based on this AMAZING song.

What do you guys think about starting up a thread where people can write their own stories and everyone else can give their opinions about it, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were both part of a group called the Inklings and they did that sort of thing.
if such a thread already exists and i just haven't found it please be kind when pointing out my stupidity.

Thats a good idea Liana and i'd certainly participate. A thread like it might exist on the main forum, but in my opinion thats rather a scary place to go.... :o I've heard of Inklings and it was the place where both Lord of the Rings and Narnia were first aired so i say go for it! :D

Hi Snekebabs, Liana, Moira (did I miss anyone?) and welcome to this feral forum - do have fun!

(I booted a bunch of erudite conversation in French and German over to the chattery thread - where (ahem) it belongs...)

ok so after my initial mistake of posting here without realising it was the alison croggon section i have finally rectified the situation.
i got the gift and the riddle from the library yesterday and i just couldnt control myself...
i practically CONSUMED them! i started the gift at about 4pm and finished the riddle at 4am...it was an intense reading session i only emerged for ice cream and caffine in the form of cans of coke.
I LOVE THEM! although im kind of sad now because i have to wait for months for the next one...already went and read the preview/first chapters on alisons website and i cant wait!
i think that im going to have to read them again im sure i missed heaps in my rush to get to the juicy parts..i couldnt believe it when i thought cadvan had died i kept thinking that he would re-appear in th next chapter but he didnt! i was so happy when i found out that he infact hadnt really died (although i did kinda suspect that he was alive all along)
anway i must go and begin my second reading...i am definately staying as a member here!

p.s. i too think that maerad and cadvan have to get together...but not too soon...im loving the subtle hints and suspense. :p

Hi Moira - very glad to hear that your accidental landing here has been so positive! I put some spoiler quotes in, so others don't stumble over them (though it must be a badly kept secret by now, we must do our best) ;)

Um... hello

My name is Katie, I live in Canada, I'm really into anything fantasy (if it's good, mind you)

So, yeah... I thought since I really liked these books, alot, so I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon. I'm new to forums. Really new, so don't be mean! :o and personality wise, I'm pretty reserved and shy... and don't talk much. However these things may not show in my posts... I don't know.

Remember, total newb! :)
