Congratulations to Marianne de Pierres on Parrish Plessis - the latest in a great line of gutsy female heroes that includes Ellen Ripley, Jocelyn Peabody (from 'Dan Dare') - and - Jane Eyre. Sci-fi-wise, my introduction to this genre came in 1949 with 'Futura' in 'Planet Comics'. Stalked by shadowy figures through a 21st centuey mega-city before being abducted to planet Cymradia, mild Earth secretary Marcia Reynolds becomes Futura, fighting fury in the Parrish / Ripley tradition when she learns that ruler Mentor and his synthropoid minions (precursors of the Mekon and his Treens but much nastier?)have an unfortunate habit of using Earth abductees for brain transplant experiments. Scary stuff even now with the old comics I have managed to obtain, but 56 years ago when I was seven, 'Futura' was mind-blowing. I look forward to more action from Parrish and friends.
Best wishes
