does anyone know this cartoon

I am trying to remember a cartoon that i think was from the 80's maybe earlier but in the cartoon the main character had a small mythical phoenix and it loved to eat pomegranates. the bird if i remember correctly could also become very large. Sorry but this is all i can remember about the cartoon. If anyone can help me out on what cartoon this was it would help a ton. Thank you.

Reading over the question I could remember the cartoon but could think what it was!

Now I remember that the phoenix lived in Conan's shield.

What can I say? It used to bug me. :o I don't remember anything else other than the theme tune... certainly not the phoenix. It must be amnesia induced by the lack of nipplage. :rolleyes:

I think you'll find it was called the Pirates of Dark Water, what a cartoon! The pomegranate eating thing was a monkey bird called Niddler!

I'm sure there was a phoenix in the Conan cartoon.

Also it turns out there was a live action Conan series in the late 90's.

Also it seems they have a new Conan cartoon starting up with Ron Pealman doing the voice.
