I'm looking for a book I read a few years ago of which I can not remember the author or title. It begins with a girl who, while traveling to a fair (I think)with her father and brothers, climbs a mountain which is forbidden to climb. The local people then try to put her to death. While they attempt to burn her she is saved by a boy at the fair. There is also an albino man and magical cat invloved. I don't remember too much else about the book but if anyone has any idea what it might be I greatly appreciate it.

You're thinking of 'Sorcery Rising' by Jude Fisher by the sounds of it. Katla Aransen and family travel to the fair for trading, and Katla (rock-climber extraordinaire) does indeed climb the sacred rock...thus starting the chain of events. The albino man and his cat are also at the fair, and are not what they seem...

This is followed by Wild Magic, with one more book in the trilogy 'Fool's Gold' to be released.
