I read a book over 12 years ago, the basic idea was one womans search for the llano, she follows gypsies, marries a berserker, dances against skeletons, all of this just to become mother nature reincarnate. If anyone has any clue i would love to know, thanks !

Maybe Piers Anthony's Being A Green Mother? It's been a long time since I read it so I can't say it matches any of those details, except that the protagonist does become mother earth.
