Aha.
Your english teacher sounds like a maths teacher in my school. We got his as a sub one day in geography. He walked in, closed the door and said,
"Girls, I have to tell you something. You are all going to die, and the devil does exist." Then he noticed some girl was drinking lemonade, so he walked over grabbed the bottle and went "This stuff dissolves your brain!" :D
