Half the world is composed by people who have something to say and can't. The other half have nothing to say and keep on saying it

The brain is a wonderful organ, it starts working form the moment you get up and does not stop until you get to the office/ or school / college/ university!!

There was this really cool quote in Inkheart...something about
Spoiler Tag because I TOTALLY ruined the line......if anybody wants to ruin it for them, please proceed!!! Its the line outside Mo's office...also, apologies if anybody has already mentioned it!!:p

Some books being gobbled, some books must be chewed slowly and digested carefully

....that's not the whole Quote....(need to look it up...at the library...to which I'm not going today...) but if someone can supply it, Please DO!!!:)

Some books should be tasted
some devoured,
but only a few
should be chewed and digested thoroughly.

I think thats the quote you mean.. its from page 14(well page 14 of my copy) of Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, chapter one! I love it too.. its just so true!

I also found another good quote from Inkheart:
"'What on earth have you packed in here? Bricks?' asked Mo...
'You're the one who says books have to be heavy because the whole world's inside them,' said Maggie." p25

My favourite poem of all time is this one from the Riddle:
Do not twine garlands of myrtle for my forehead
Nor pluck sweet roses to adorn me
Make me a crown of sombre violets
For I am dying

The sweet lips of the maidens of Busk
And the flashing feet of dancing goatherds
Will never again quicken my desire
For I am dying

Come to me merciful Meripon
In your ebony chariot draw by swallows
From the dim halls beyond the gates
For I am dying

I kiss the peaks of Lamedon with my eyes
And the white arms of the passionate seas
Which loves this island that I love
For I am dying

I think i like it so much because for me it mirrors the events in the novel.
Maerad's essentially loss of innocence when she kills the bard
Though maybe i am just talking rubbish!

Your welcome Clavila.. what a pretty name!

I started reading Inkheart again after i found the quote:D

"We are all liars when it serves our purpose." From Inkheart but I believe the Winterking says something similar.

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” - Winston Churchill

“I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.” -W. Churchill

“If you aren't just a little bit depressed, then you aren't paying very much attention to what's going on in the world.” - Pete Wentz

“I'm not psycho...I just like psychotic things.” - Gerard Way

“We don't need lists of rights and wrongs, tables of do's and don'ts: we need books, time, and silence. Thou shalt not is soon forgotten, but Once upon a time lasts forever.” - Philip Pullman

“It is a cliche that most cliches are true, but then like most cliches, that cliche is untrue” - Stephen Fry
