I love the whole Arkan/Maerad bits, as well as the amazing songs that Alison comes up with for the book such as the Afinil song.

I like this one ---> "You are the Firelily" said the Winterking softly. "And I am the Ice King. Does fire melt ice? Or ice put out fire? Or may they come together, fire and ice, neither melted nor quenched?"

*cough* can we say someone's trying to stir some sexual tension here?! :p

Lol, what makes you think that, Mikotenshi? :)
I really like the Arkan/Maerad exchanges too. The bit that always makes me laugh is when she realises that the only way she can decieve Arkan is by telling the truth: 'but the problem with the truth, Maerad thought desparingly, is that it is true.' Makes me laugh every time.

lol...I'd forgotten that one. And, when Maerad remembers her escape from Pellinor-
''The towers of Pellinor were burning.
The darkness itself seemed to be screaming.''
So sad.

"Do not think kindness equates weakness. It does not."-Saliman

I don't know why but it speaks to me and I love it. (And hay it's not Dernhil who said it. Isn't that a change for me?)
