I guess most people have their favourite medium to work within, so what is yours, and why?
Mine is pencil (with the occasional meddling in photoshop, for colouration), and for painting/illustrating; oils and watercolour inks.
I like pencils for the delicacy that can be achieved, and invariably I use a blue pencil (col-erase blue), rather than a graphite one! There's a subtlety about the blue that I like.
Oils dry slower, and I can blend and feather to my heart's content.
I use watercolour inks, but not much palette watercolour - I prefer the vividness of the inks, but they can be a nightmare when you make a mistake!!
I have tried and tried again to get to grips with gouache, but this medium eludes me still! I would love to be able to control it better than I can.
Acrylics don't blend well enough to suit me. (And they dry too fast!)
How about you?
:)
