got a term-paper in one of my lesson in university. If you read fiction about this could you help me getting the right fiction? I find some fiction but I do not know their contents and so I do not know they are really relevant to the mercury. So if anyone have read story or novel about and know their contents please help me to find the right book or story.

Here is the message from my instructor.

1. Choose one of the objects in the
list (mercury)

2. Find a Science Fiction or other story ÷not shorter than 10 pages, so short stories may not count÷, where your chosen object is important to the storyline.
Short stories, longer stories, novellas, novels, ÷even if your object is relevant to one chapter of the novel÷ movie scripts count.

3. Then, comment on if the real properties of your chosen object are presented accurately in the story, and which properties of the object are important in the storyline, and how

PS: especially short stories between 15-50 pages is useful for me.. In the story tehere must be some explanations about mercury like temperature, atmosphere, surface features and other astronomical or geographical features..

Umm - Robert Silverberg wrote a short story called Sunrise on Mercury, but I can't actually remember anything about it...

The list in Clong's list includes the three i would have mentioned (Sirens of Titan, Worm Ouroborus, Rendezvouz with Rama).

Hobbit

And Ben Bova's Mercury....

And the short story collection by Isaac Asimov, Martin Greenberg & Charles G. Waugh, The Science Fictional Solar System (1979) which includes Alan Nourse's short story Brightside Crossing. Not sure (can't remember!) but I think it might be over the 15 pages you need...

Ray Bradbury's novella "Frost and Fire" takes place on Mercury. It sounds just like what you're looking for.

One of Asimov's Robot Short Stories in I, Robot takes place on Mercury. It's the one where the Robot gets stuck in a loop because of the 2nd and 3rd rules. Can't remember how long it is though

But the Roboticists have to deal with the extreme conditions. That's about all that it really has to do with the planet.
