Ive read the first two children's books of the wheel of time series before i found out there were some adult ones? ive looked everywhere and i cant find the furst one off the adult series??? i dont know what its called either. Ive got this really snooty friend who has read them all and she keeps rubbing it in my face. Can anyone tell me what the first book is called, where to find it and whether its worth getting!

ps
is there any difference between the children and adult versions???

Hi Elidhu.

My impression was that the two 'childrens' books were just the first 'adult' book, divided into two volumes.

Perhaps someone else can support/refute that??

Sammie.

Yes, the childrens books are indeed the same as the adult books, except that each adult book has been split into two books and have new covers and suchlike.

So the adult book #1 (The Eye of the World) has been split into From the Two Rivers and To the Blight.

Adult book #2 (The Great Hunt) has been split into The Hunt Begins and New Threads in the Pattern.

I'm not aware of any more childrens versions after that, but you can just pick up the "adult" versions from there, #3 being The Dragon Reborn.

I forgot to mention that the prologue in From the Two Rivers is different from the one in The Eye of the World. I don't know if the same goes for the later childrens versions.
