You're reading what could become one of your favourite books of all time, the paperback Storm of Swords split into two volumes, specifically volume 1 Steel and Snow. You're sat with a bit of calming music, a large cup of coffee, reaching the final chapter and....
No chapter heading??????
Just a continuation of...nothing.
Aaaargh, someones ripped out the first page of the last chapter!!!! And I go to the shop and they don't have any copies left, and if they did they won't replace because I can't prove it was done before I bought it!!!
Now I realise copyright laws stop someone writing a copy of the two pages for me to read, but if someone could give me a description of the action of the beginning of the last chapter up to the words, "their doors every night and wondering if Rattleshirt...." that would be most appreciated. :D

Lol, typical eh! Someone did that to my copy of Dune, only it was missing a good 20 - 30 pages, plue the appendix!!!
Anyway, erm ... I have my copy on hand ...
Basically its Jon commenting to Yrgitte on the size of a tower they are near, and how it was probably built by men who had been settled in the gift. Yrgitte thinks they were fools to leave such a 'Castle' as she sees it, though Jon tells her how Winterfells towers are much taller, as is that of Tower in Oldtown.
Jon thinks to himself how he would like to take Yrgritte to Winterfell, or how he could live like a Lord with her in one of the towers. We get some ideas of how Eddard and Benjen planned to use the land between the Wall and Winterfell to protect against the wildings.
Its a good little passage about the aspirations Jon might have felt he could look to, after Winter had passed.

I had the same problem with my copy of Dune. I wonder if it was a printing error. Was yours a bookclub edition, Gildor?

No I think someone just ripped it out, it was a very very old and stained edition. It was my Dads before me, and he had the same problem ... just wear and tear I guess.
Namely this one ....
