Found a cool site called Epilogue.net that displays some really good fantasy and sci-fi artists. Not the typical Frazetta/Vallejo collection, but a wide variety art submitted by the artists themselves! Some really good stuff there. Worth a visit - www.epilogue.net (http://www.epilogue.net)

I really enjoyed that site...They even allow people to post stories who are artists too!
I looked everywhere for erebus' listing...but I didn't see it!
Beautiful too. This is the place where I'd go if I wanted illustrators for my fantasy or Sci-fi story... or visa versa. Why can't a story be inspired by an image?

Sorry, An8el, I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, IMO! So, you wont find me listed at any art type sites. My book covers were just a bit of mucking around with digital graphics etc. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

I guess I'd better stick to what I do best (?) - writing!

Why can't a story be inspired by an image?

Of course it can! Many times, I see an image, and a story comes to my mind. Thought, I rarely write it, because at the time I'm writing something else... http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/frown.gif

But, truly, images are great for inspiration!

There is another one called www.elfwood.com (http://www.elfwood.com)!
It's very nice site! Even better than epilogue.net (http://www.epilogue.net)

I just want to recommend my buddy Kei's web-site. www.geocities.com/u3911468 (http://www.geocities.com/u3911468)

This guy is super-talented! (BTW he designed the site himself, it's worth going just to check out his web-design talents)
EDIT: You have to scroll down some to find the "Enter" button. Tell me what you think!

Hi, I am new around here so 'scuse me if I step on any toes ...

Elfwood is a wonderful website, but they have no real critiria requirements for the works posted there. That means my seven year old daughter (who is very talented btw) could set up her own gallery there.

It is a great place for newbies to get their work seen, however you need to wade through a LOT of not so good stuff to find the gems.

Epilogue have some fairly rigid submission guidelines that must be met, or the work is rejected. So to get your work on Epilogue, you have to be good. Some of the best up and coming illustrators have epilogue galleries.

The stories are not all by artists. In fact, most of the stories there are actually written by writers, and again, they have to meet the guidelines before they are published. Or they did ...

Epilogue is no longer posting stories to their archives. They are presently putting together the first edition of their magazine. That is where the stories will now be placed.

Both sites are really great sites, but they are also very different sites too. How do I know all of this? I used to be a member of Elfwood a looooooong time ago, and I am presently a member of Epilogue.

Boris Vallejo has always been one of my faves. His understudy Julie Bell (a former female bodybuilder) is also quite good.

There are some good samples of both their work at these sites;

Another great artist IMHO is Simon Bisley who did/does a lot of fantasy and sci-fi artwork for comics like 2000AD.
My avatar is taken from his work.

Sample galleries of Bisley can be found on these sites;

Just thought I'd better add that all sites contain "adult content" i.e. some images of sexual or violent context. :eek:
