George has revealed a new title for the seventh book of A Song of Ice and Fire, replacing the working title A Time for Wolves.

Oh, and I've also come up with a new title for the seventh (and final, I hope, I hope, I hope) volume of the series -- A DREAM OF SPRING. I like the sound of that a lot better than A TIME FOR WOLVES, which has been my working title for book seven up to now, and I also think it gives a better sense of the book that I want to write. So -- A DANCE WITH DRAGONS, then THE WINDS OF WINTER, then A DREAM OF SPRING. Shouldn't take me long (hah).

Hmm, I like A Time for Wolves better.

Nah, 'A Time For Wolves' is way too cheesy, almost as bad as 'A Storm of Swords' :p I like 'A Dream of Spring', gives me some hope that we'll get to the end without every character being horribly murdered. :D

Sounds a bit too much like Jordan's New Spring for my liking, though it fits in with the (long passed) idea that the books would follow seasons - Summer, Autumn (Winter is Coming!), to Winter then Spring.

I like A Time for Wolves because it makes me think that the Starks are going to ultimately triumph. Which is what I want. A Dream of Spring sounds a little corny to me. All in all I don't really care as long as I don't have to wait another decade for it to happen!

hehe.

I think a "Dream of Spring" does give the reader the sense of hope. I like it but then I live the Wolves title too. But in the end I don't care too much what the book is titled. I just want to read what is between the covers, and lets hope I wont be some doddering 90 year old woman before it comes out!

I wonder what it will be like?

I always thought:

AFFC: interlude
ADWD: eye of the storm (if martin does get to join the south/north story arcs together in the closing chapters like he wants)
TWOW: Utter anhilliation :D (cant wait!)
ADOS: Post apocylaptic rag tag factions trying to put some sense of order back into the place

I sort of agree with this. Doesn't the title "The Winds of Winter" remind you of that old book call "The Winds of War?" Nothing but destruction and total chaos. That is where the hope of "A Dream of Spring" will come in.

I do not like it. All I can hope is that this was an April Fool's joke (seeing as how the first post in this thread was from April 1).

"A Dream of Spring" is a nice idea, but it sounds way too much like TWO Jordan books. "New Spring" and "Knife of Dreams".

I've always looked forward to "A Time for Wolves", even if it is a tad corny. It held all my Stark hopes! :(

A Time of Wolves really kicks @ss, but I've thought about A Dream of Spring and have decided it probably fits the theme of the whole series a lot better.
