Here are some of my favorite fantasy worlds that I've loved.

Only read Feist & Martin from your list, I enjoyed Midkemia at first but found his characters too much to stomach in later books. Feist/Wurts world of Kelewan is an interesting place, very oriental sort of ancient China/Japan/Korea. Katherine Kerrs Deverry is very believeable if only because it is so similar to ours, well England in winter anyway! Love George Martins world can't wait to see how that story develops, the wall of Ice and the lands above it seems very hostile, and the Nightswatch remind me of Crusaders of old.

There have been quite a few good ones since, but the best one has always been Tolkiens Middle Earth. It doesn't get any more intricate than that.

I have enjoyed many of the fantasy worlds that have been listed so far. But, if you are looking for something a little different, I would suggest Piers Anthony and his Xanth series. Although it's not my favorite series, his humorous approach is a nice change of pace.

I agree about piers anthony, I also like Faerun(forgotten realms) and piers anthonys phaze/proton

George R. R. Martin's Seven Kingdoms because of the scope, complexity and just because it's darn good.

Tho' Tolkein knows his writing there'd not be much of anything for a female like me to be doing in Middle-Earth so I'll pass on it. In case you're wondering, this is how I'd choose my favorite worlds...would I want to live there? For Martin's world that answer's a "yes" but I'd need a good sword and more importantly, I'd need to know how to use it. <g>

I don't read epic fantasy as much as I read specifically GOOD fantasy. Not that epic fantasy cannot fall under this category, it's just not my first interest.

Moorcock's world of Elric is darn good one. I've only read one book and wasn't impressed overall but the atmosphere made the world worthwhile.

J. Gregory Keyes' "Chosen of the Changeling" world is really eye-opening, if only because of the many gods... And I'm quite certain it's not only because of the many gods...

Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea is beautiful and breathtaking and... Jeez, I won't go serching for more adjectives, you get the idea at any rate.

I'm new in this forum,but my favorite land is Valdemar created by Mercades Lackey. I also like the Discworld by Terry Prachett.
