All I can remember about the series was that there was a boy in I think it was Florida and he found a way to get into an alternate universe or world where there were dragons, monsters and all those things. It was a really big series, probably twenty to thirty books and I remember the covers were alwas yellow if I'm not mistaken.
Any more info on this, author's name, series name, really good search sites, or character names would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note, does anybody know waht the order of the Dune books are after Children of Dune? Including the ones that Frank's son is writing.
Thanks for your time.

I'll guess the Florida series is Piers Anthony's Xanth (its really, really big, but the books are standalones), though it isn't exactly what you describe.
For Dune after 'children' is God Emperor, Heretics, Chapterhouse
Don't know anything about the preludes, but check here (http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/h/brian-herbert/)

I'm pretty sure your talking about the book Demons don't dream from the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. Something about a kid getting to xanth which looks like florida. The only reason the book sticks out in my head is because its the first xanth book I read.

But if you're putting them chronologically on the Dune timeline, then isn't it:
Prelude To Dune - Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson
House Atreides
House Harkonnen
House Corrino
Legends of Dune - BH & KJA
Butlerian Jihad
The Machine Crusade
The Battle of Corrin
Dune Series - Frank Herbert
Dune
Dune Messiah
Children of Dune
God Emperor of Dune
Heretics of Dune
Chapterhouse: Dune
For my money though you've got to start with the original (and to many the only proper) books by Frank himself. The first three, anyway.

Just wanted to point out that the LEGENDS OF DUNE trilogy is set earlier in the Dune timeline than the PRELUDE TO DUNE.
Both of truly dubious quality, and a far cry from Frank Herbert's masterpieces.
Cheers,
Patrick
