Hi all

This forum looks like a great idea if you ask me, so what's better than starting off with a discussion about what our favourite books and authors are!

Well, here I go, my (current) top 5 authors/series.

1. Terry Goodkind - Sword of Truth
2. Robert Jordan - Wheel of Time
3. Robin Hobb - Farseer Trilogy
4. George R.R. Martin - A song of Ice and Fire
5. David Drake - Lord of the Isle

Hi people, I also liked the Sword of Truth. Has anybody read The Skull of Truth? I don't remember the author

Doh

I liked the Chronicles of Covenant the Unbeliever by Donaldsson.
I also greatly enjoy the homouristic fantasy by Terry Pratchett.
Oh, Tolkien as well, although he has some better and some worse works.

It's really hard for me to pick my Five Favorite writers, alot of times, I like one particular series by a author, but, not all his work.

Anyhoo, that'll be a new thread.. http://www.sffworld.com/ubb/smile.gif

In no particular order..

1 Tad Williams
2 Glen Cook
3 George R. R. Martin
4 Robin Hobb
5 Neil Gaiman

It's a tough call..

Dear All,

I can't really make a list over my top ten as I enjoy a lot of different SF and Fantasy writers but I'll share some of my favorites (in no spesific order):
* JRR Tolkien * Sheri S. Tepper * Stephen R. Donaldson * Hugh Cook * Terry Prachett * David Eddings * Raymond E. Feist...

hello, all!

Well, I can't really list my favorite authors in order, so I will just put my top few, NOT in order:

Terry Pratchett, David Eddings, Robert Jordan, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Tad Williams, Piers Anthony, to name a few. Probably my favorite out of those would be David Eddings. Just thought I would throw their names in!

- David Eddings
- Terry Brooks
- Tad Williams
- Orson Scott Card
- Robert Jordan

Most of my list is pretty much like everyone elses. A few differences I guess. Just getting into David Farlands "Runelords". Book 1 seems pretty good so far. Here is the rest of my list:
David Eddings
Terry Goodkind
Robert Jordan
Raymond Feist
Piers Anthony
J.R.R. Tolkien
