FYI - here's a great interview (http://ofblog.blogspot.com/2006/04/interview-with-caitlin-sweet.html).

Thanks kcf, I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Great interview, Caitlin. This one explored some issues your other interviews didn't--like how hard it is to find time for yourself with two young children (boy, can I relate to that!).

Interesting, all of it--especially the picture from Ad Astra...looks like you guys had a great time (but I was shocked by Scott's appearance, somehow I pictured him being short with dark hair!) :D

Thanks for posting that very interesting interview!

Hi Caitlin -- I was wondering if it would be easier to get your books in a Canadian bookstore or to order them from some website such as amazon.ca. I may be flying over to Canada this summer (maybe even Toronto!), so thought it would be great to get the books while I'm there. :D

You should be able to pick them up in any chain bookstore in Canada, and maybe large independents. But I believe you can also order them from Amazon.com.

Nice interview, Caitlin, as always. And nice outfit. But I'm wondering, does anyone ever get Scott out of the bar at these things? :)

Thanks to you all for the interview feedback!

whitesilkbreeze: KatG's right: you can order my books from amazon.com, though I think it takes a bit longer than if you order them from amazon.ca. But it would be cool if you managed to pick them up while you're in Canada this summer! However, I've noticed that both books are currently completey out of stock at many of the big chain stores (Chapters and Indigo), so maybe you'd be better off doing the online thing...

Miriamele: I only just discovered this interview thread now, because I spent most of yesterday attending to a stomach-flu-ridden child! Seems sort of appropriate, considering what I mentioned in the interview about the juggling that has to go on (today I actually managed to work on a synopsis while said child, mostly recovered, napped on the couch!).

KatG: I enjoy Scott anywhere, anytime (oh my!), but Bar Scott is his finest incarnation. ;) There are some other Ad Astra pics at www.ttpsoftware.com/adastra - including a few Very Serious Ones featuring Scott and me (yeah, so he's clutching a beer and I've got a Chardonnay close by, but we're still Highly Serious).

Hey Ken, thanks for spreading the word about the interview all the way here!:D I know you're running for Pimp of the Year, so it's all good!;)

Yes, it is a very good and comprehensive Q&A, if I may say so myself! I'm happy to see that the vibe has been very positive thus far. Larry and I are quite happy with the way it turned out! Hopefully Caitlin is as well!

By the way, Caitlin, I'll check with Dag to see if he's okay about adding the interview to the site.

And yes, everyone should go out and buy Caitlin's two novels. I'm supposed to be getting a round of free beer if I ever meet Caitlin in person for doing this, and I want the good stuff! Not that 6$-a-pitcher cheap booze at Café Campus on a Tuesday Night (Caitlin, if you went to McGill, I'm positive you know what I mean!;))!

And for books by Canadian authors -- whether it's Caitlin, Bakker or Erikson --amazon.ca remains the very best place to make a purchase.

Cheers,

Patrick

I like the contrast between you in the sparkly, er, dress, and you all serious with your hair drawn back and the glasses for your reading.

Great pictures--one thing I kept thinking while looking at them: Caitlin has REALLY shiny hair! (So what's the secret?) :D

P.S. I hope your daughter is feeling better Caitlin! :)

Larry and I are quite happy with the way it turned out! Hopefully Caitlin is as well! I am indeed! I really enjoyed having a two-part interview; it's something I haven't done before. The division of questions ended up being quite successful and comprehensive.

I have no idea. None at all. :p (Actually, I think I darkened Café Campus' door once the entire time I was there. I remember questionable spaghetti and yes, truly awful beer.)

Glad you liked "The Two Faces of Caitlin", KatG! I thought the sober (literally and figuratively) look would better suit a reading, particularly since said reading was on a Sunday morning. I did, however, participate in a Saturday evening panel discussion whilst in my pink sequins and fishnet stockings - though this only happened because the room where I'd changed was locked, and its inhabitant temporarily unlocatable. Again: you gotta love cons. No one looked at me twice, when I took my seat at the table.

Miriamele: the little sick girl had a bit of a relapse tonight, so I'm in "email quickly and then rush back upstairs" mode. As for the secret of my gleaming tresses...um...my super fabulous Lush shampoo? Let's go with that! :)

Thanks, that's just what I did! I'm now in Canada and have both A Telling of Stars and The Silences of Home sitting next to me. Curiously, A Telling of Stars is half the physical size of The Silences of Home. This makes me sad. I like my books to be the same size.

I'm looking forward to reading them as soon as I finish tackling my reading list for school and other purposes. ;)
