Anyone read this series, or it's follow up?
It's based on Norse mythology..Looks rather interesting..

I read it and enjoyed it. I think it's a bit longer than it need be, but still worth reading. Mickey Zucker Reichert uses a lot her life experiences in her books, for instance: she has worked with a lot of Vietnam veterans, and most of the main characters are scarred by war. This makes it pretty realistic and believable.

I really like the Renshai series myself. I picked up my first book at a second hand shop and it's probably one of the best cheap buys I've found. She writes in a very involving way and the pages just fly by.

Yup - I enjoyed the first but never got round to reading the rest.
Fairly good stuff, and a writer who perhaps deserves more attention.

Hmm, someone bought me one of the Renshai books. I forget what it's called. It had the word 'Children' in it though. Is it any good?

It's a very good series well worth reading. It's based on norse mythology. All in all I think there are six books. If you're looking for a complete series with carefully crafted main characters, a lot of action and fighting you will enjoy it. Mickey Zucker Reichert once mentioned that they really acted some of the fighting scenes out on horses and got bruises all over. It does a lot of good on the descriptions of the fights. Colbey is a thrilling character. The books definately deserve more notice than they get at the moment.

I read the first trilogy probably 8 years ago. It was enjoyable with solid characters, but nothing to really rave about. It was nice to see a story wrapped in Norse mythology, too. Never got around to the second trilogy...maybe someday.
