May is here folks, so let us know what Fantasy books you have/are reading this month!

Don't forget to jump into our book clubs either:

In Science Fiction we've got
Old Man's War by John Scalzi (http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?p=319300#post319300) (Hugo Nominee, that one)

In Fantasy we've got:
A Telling of Stars by Caitlin Sweet (http://www.sffworld.com/forums/showthread.php?p=319298#post319298). (Caitlin has her own Forum here!)

Well I am almost done with "Mad Ship" by Robin Hobb. I am really enjoying this trilogy too, although maybe not as much as Farseer. I think I will take a break before Tawny Man (since I decided to read these 9 books in the order they were written). Jim Butcher's new one "Proven Guilty" comes out tomorrow so I imagine that will be the next and then on to the Tawny Man trilogy.

I'm continuing my re-read of the WoT with The Fires of Heaven. I know I'll catch a lot of flack for this, but I just love this series.

Well on my way through Vandermeer's City of Saints and Madmen and so far I'm entranced with his writing. First time with Vandermeer, and I'll definately be buying his other books.

Just finished Eye of the World, started The Great Hunt.

Am reading the serie for the first time and find it really good (have been told that after book 4 it becomes dull)

Being the school holidays, i have recently read quite a load, and am planning to re-read WOT in order to understand it for Knife of Dreams.

also, im reading.
The Eyes of God by John marco
Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams
Otherland Volumes 3 and 4 by Tad Williams
Cry of the New Born by James Barclay
and assorted sci-fi novels.

its a lot, but my mind tends to wander if i read average fantasy for too long, so i read sections of one, then another.

I am also reading A Telling of Stars, and after that will move on to If Angels Burn by Lynn Veihl, then on to a bunch of different ones. My TBR pile has been growing exponentially lately, and as I commit myself more and more to my business, I find I am reading books about sales and people management then fiction :( I miss fiction!

Well on my way through Vandermeer's City of Saints and Madmen and so far I'm entranced with his writing. First time with Vandermeer, and I'll definately be buying his other books.

What joy! I am planning on rereading the short CoSaM and reading the extras in the long CoSaM which I never read, as I never owned the long copy before. Also, do not sleep on Vandermeer's Veniss Underground. A captivating, horrific fantasy novel. The truest testament to Vandermeer's talent, IMO.

Making my way slowly through Mervyn Peake's Titus Groan. It is a delicious steak seasoned perfectly. Keep the 57 and A1 away from this one, it tastes just fine the way it is, and does well to be eaten slowly in medium sized bites.

These characters Peake creates - I can envision and feel them so clearly. How Peake spends so much time on characterization and still manages to keep the story moving is beyond me. Perhaps its because he doesn't shy away from jumping ahead a few years in the narrative, like he just did leading up to baby Titus's christening (great scene by the by).

I've got another 300 pages to go to finish the first book, and it is definitely slow going. I hope to pick up the pace a bit, because my signed, first edition HC copy of Gene Wolfe's Peace just came in today. That makes two books I have signed by the master.

As far as other fantasy plans for May, I'm really not sure.
